Photo Stories
Photo Stories consist of a news item where the key element is a photograph, and there is a short description of the photograph only. We do not present a written story with this style of news item.
Anyone is free to submit a Photo Story - just send the following to news@uvonline.com
Photograph in JPG format of at least 400 pixels width. Narrower photos will not be considered.
- Some text (say 10-40 words) describing the photo and why it is newsworthy
- Copyright holder of the photograph
- Your website URL, or if you do not have a website, your email address. This will be used as a live link on UVOnline.com as the credit to you.
Examples of Photo Stories
- New delivery to operator
- New equipment fitted
- Photos from a particular event (eg. exhibition, airshow etc)
- The important thing is that it must be "news"
Other notes to be aware of
- We reserve the right to reject any Photo Story sent to us without giving a reason
- We reserve the right to edit photos - eg. to bring more focus on the vehicle/payload and less on the location where it was taken.
- You must hold the copyright, or have the copyright holder's permission to submit the photo.
- We do not pay for Photo Stories - the fact that we are putting your website link or email address in is the exchange we are doing with you to promote your work on UVOnline.com
- In some countries or in some circumstances, you may require permission from the owner of the land where you stand, or from the owner of the helicopter, to take the photo. We assume you have got that permission
- You may include a small copyright notice within the graphic of the photo - but this is not required as we will be noting the copyright on the final output page anyway.
By submitting a photo to us, it is assumed that you have read, understood and agreed to all the above terms. If we are approached by a third party questioning any aspect of the Photo Story covered by these terms, we will not enter into discussion with them but just pass them straight on to you. No liability will fall on UVOnline.com or Shephard Press Ltd.
Finally, there will be some people who have websites where they are happy for us to use any image from their site as a Photo Story, without having to inform us each time. We are happy to monitor your site and download suitable photos if you agree with us doing this.
