PRESS RELEASE CANCELLATION NOTICE SHEPHARD’S AIR POWER MIDDLE EAST (12-13 JANUARY) 2009 CANCELLED PENDING FURTHER REVIEW Tuesday 18 November, 2008: In close cooperation with the UAE Air Force the Shephard Group has made the difficult decision to cancel its second Air Power Middle East 2009 conference, which had been set for 12-13 January at the UAE Armed Forces Club in Abu Dhabi. As part of its responsibility as a conference and event organiser, the Shephard Group endeavours to exceed the expectations of its participating industry partners. In 2007 Shephard staged its debut Air Power Middle East at the UAE Armed Forces Club and was widely acknowledged by the UAE Air Force, international industry, speakers and delegates as a very valuable and enterprising conference which helped to increase the UAE’s stature as a leader in military thinking within the region. As this could not be guaranteed with the January 2009 dates, the Group has acted to review the event.
